III. What are the applications for A&I Online?

  3.1   Access a list of interstate carriers ranked according to their safety status

3.7 Review a specific state's Compliance Review (CR) activity by safety rating and compare the results to other states.

The Compliance Review (CR) sub-module provides summarized reports for each state and the nation on all CRs conducted on motor carriers that transport property or passengers in interstate commerce. A CR is conducted to investigate potential safety violations, to investigate complaints or in response to a carrier's request for a change in safety rating. The results of the CR may result in the initiation of an enforcement action.

The following example illustrates how to review the breakdown of safety ratings as the result of all CRs conducted in the selected state for the chosen year. This information can also be used to compare the state’s data against the nation’s data.

  1. Access the Program Measures module from the Main Menu.

    Access the Program Measures module by selecting Program Measures from the main menu.

  2. Click on the Compliance Review sub-module from within the Program Measures Module.

    Access the Compliance Reviews sub-module from within the Program Measures Module.

  3. Click on State Reports from within the Compliance Reviews sub-module.

    Access the State Reports within the Compliance Reviews sub-module.

  4. Reports for a specific state are chosen from the State Reports area. The safety rating report is the default report in the state reports area. Select a state and year from the pull-down menus.

    To view additional state reports, click on the side buttons (e.g., safety rating) and select from the report choices.

    Select a state and a year from the pull-down menus. View the data in table or graph format.  Descriptive information is also available. View the data by calendar or fiscal year.

  5. The "Compliance Review Activity by Safety Rating" report allows you to compare the safety ratings as the result of all compliance reviews conducted in the selected state for the chosen year. Further, the report allows you to compare the percent differences between the state and the national data.

  6. Access the State Comparison reports to compare the Georgia safety ratings with all the other states in the nation. Click on National Reports.

  7. Click on State Comparison from the National Reports area.

  8. The safety rating report is the default report in the State Comparisons area. Click on Unsatisfactory Percent to sort the column in ascending or descending order.

    Note: All reports in the State Comparison area allow for column sorting in ascending (arrow pointing up) or descending (arrow pointing down) order by clicking on the underlined text. The default sort is to ascending order.

    Click on the Unsatisfactory Percent column to sort in ascending or descending order.

  9. Click on the descending icon (arrow pointing down) to re-sort the column in descending order.

    Click on the descending icon to sort the column in descending order.

  10. You can identify the states with the highest percent of Unsatisfactory safety ratings by sorting the column in ascending or descending order. Click on the descending icon (arrow pointing down) to sort the column in descending order.

    GA has one of the highest percent of unsatisfactory safety ratings in the nation for 2001 and review list of states with comparable unsatisfactory percent ratings.
